You are logged in and working as the administrator. This is useful if you are setting up your account (e.g. enabling categories of gear and qualifications or creating sites) but you should not do day-to-day work as admin since the audit trail will not contain your name and it is possible to make mistakes as you are working with elevated privileges.

If you are indeed configuring your account then close this message and click 'Hide this'. Alternatively login as your own user account or create a user account for yourself to avoid using the administrator one.

Search for:
* Enter any text (e.g serial numbers, QR/bar code/NFC tag contents,batch numbers, gear description, storage locations, loan names, gear IDs, list IDs etc). Find out about using QR codes and barcodes with GearLog...
Exact match:
* Only results that exactly match what you enter will be retrieved.
Maximum number of results:
* Protect youself against accidently returning lots of gear with too broad a search.
Auto search when 'search for' changes:
* If you are typing in your search term then you probably want this set this to 'No'. If you are using a bar code reader that sends text to the 'Search for' field then 'Yes' is a good choice to avoid the need to click 'Search' after each scan.

If only one result is found then:
* If relevant, and your user privileges and the current state of the search result allows it, then the selected action will be started if a single result is found by the search.
